Evening of the Arts

Well, it's Wednesday, December 12, 2007, and tonight is our Evening of the Arts. It takes place tonight from 6-9 at White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School in the foyer. 73 pieces of artwork will be for sale, the school band will be performing several songs, and some of the drama students will be performing interpretive dance and such.
I'm pretty ecxited about it, I guess. I just hope that I sell at least one thing. If I did, I'd be pretty happy. The only thing that bugs me is that all of my artwork really sucks, and everyone else did better stuff, but I'm the one that everyone expects do to the best work. I don't really know why it bugs me so much but it does.
Oh well.

I felt like posting something today. Here's a picture I did in photoshop. I call it...Roomies. Or at least....Soon to be Roomies.

Happy Suit Day

Haha you know what? Today's Suit Day. The day where you wear a suit to school for no real reason. And so....I am wearing a suit....and so is Nik. And maybe some other people. I don't think so though. Hm....I like cheese. I'm very bored so I'm just typing random things.....Haha.

Woo

Hrm....just have to finish up my Remembrance Day page and the other page before I can start on girl's basketball. And all I have to do to finish it is put the little folio thing in the corner. Woo. I got assigned to part of the yearDVD tomorrow. Again: woo.

Camera

Due to the shortage of video clips and such for our yearbook DVD or YearDVD, we are facing certain complications. This is mainly due to the school only owning one video camera. However, I believe I have a solution to this problem. At the beginning of the year, we were told that we may browse ebay to compare prices on good cameras and such. Well, while browsing yesterday, I found something that I really happen to like. A Digital camcorder that is also a digital camera, an mp3 player, a usb storage device and a mpeg4 movie player. I also believe that several of these, if ordered for the school next year could possibly help us a ton with our projects. So, as we speak, I am in the process of bidding on one such camera for my own, to use for Communications Tech, and yearbook, as well as my own personal purposes. If the camera is of good quality, takes good photos and can be ordered for a cheap enough price, then we may just be able to buy a few for the school for next year. I hope. ;)

Hm..

So.....we have Friday off this week, so since I can't post my weekly blog then, I decided to do it today, as I've been feeling ill all week and may not be here tomorrow. Alrightyy...

Looks like we're done our photoshop assignment...that kinda bums me out, 'cause I like using photoshop. I thought it was a pretty interesting assignment, though I don't know about anyone else in the class....Oh well, I enjoy photography as well. I'm not the greatest at it, but I have taken some photos that I am quite proud of, such as the photo of the Sunset Lake that I posted in an earlier blog.

I am very tired today....Not that it really has anything to do with anything...Hm...

Well, speaking of photoshop, there's a program that's available online that is similar and accessable from almost any computer. There are a couple of variations of the program as well, which is kind of cool. It's quite free as well. There's only one problem. you have to use the program directly on the site, and you have to be a member to use it. It's used for drawing, however, and I don't think you can edit photos on it...I like it a lot though. It's very easy to use.

I've included a drawing that I did with that program. The only thing is that it is a little messy as it was drawn with the computer mouse. I don't have a drawing tablet quite yet....but for Christmas my boyfriend mentioned thinking of getting me the Wacom Graphire 4 tablet, a very good version. Hoorah! Haha. Well, I can't think of anything else to post, and my wrist is starting to hurt from my tenser bandage, so I'm off. Ciao!

Again on a Friday

Well, after a day and a few hours of doing nothing but being stressed and depressed over the death of my grandmother, I don't feel like doing much work..I've looked up some stuff and whatnot but that's about it. I just thought I'd actually do something and started posting here...woo...I feel a lot better than I did yesterday though.

In Loving Memory of Jaqueline Blais

Life is delicate. The slightest thing can overthrow it's balance, or extinguish it completely.
Life is precious. Yet there are those who do not want it. There are those who just let go of everything, as soon as things take a turn for the worse. But why? Why not hold on and think, "Perhaps things will get better?" I do not understand. There are those who give up. The ones who let their pain, their sadness, or their anger, they let it take them. Some simply cannot hold on, but it is not their fault that they were just far to tired and weak to hold on...
And there are those who fight. The ones who will hold onto life with everything they've got. Who simply do not want to let go. Who fight to live because they believe that things can get better. There are those who will never give up until their last, dying breath, because they do not want to lose what is most precious to them. Some call it cowardice, fear of the unknown and the inability to accept their own death. I call it bravery.
They said that she would not live past December. The news hurt us. But surely not as much as the prediction that she would not live past October 20. We were unsure of what to believe. The future was uncertain, but one thing was for sure. She was going to fight for her life, with everything she had, even though she knew her fate was inevitable.
Jaqueline Blais lived 11 days longer than was predicted for her. She died October 31, 2007.
Rest in Peace Memere, and know that we all love you and miss you with all our hearts.

Hallowe'en

I am not in Communications Tech, where I am supposed to post from, but seeing as I will probably forget to do so on Friday, and I want a mark for this assignment, I will post my Friday's Writing now. It is Hallowe'en, meaning there are a lot of photos that need to be taken for the yearbook. We got quite a few, though almost everyone seems to be dressed as a pirate this year. I seem to remember there being a woopee cushon last year, but oh well.
My first "Double Page Spread" is almost done, but I still need some photos from the Remembrance Day ceremony to finish. Then I have to move on to Girl's Basketball, finish the Grade 9 intro page and the Grade 12 intro page. Woohoo...I still have to do a stat card too... We don't quite have a cover for our yearbook yet, but I think we'll find something. We already have one good design. So yeah.
Back on the subject of the wonderful holiday of Hallowe'en, I am a goth this year haha. Not a lot of effort went into my costume, but people always assume I'm goth anyway, so it wasn't that hard hahaha...

Rekios--Thoughts on Comm. Tech

Ah...tis Friday. How grand of a day it is, though I cannot say I am having a good day. Do not ask why though, for I do not know myself. Hurrr....I do like this class, because I like to be creative. And I can be as creative as I desire here. You see, in art class, I am told what to draw, when to draw and how to draw it. They say you can be creative, but really, everyone is doing the same thing and doing it the same way. Bleugh. But here, though I am told what do create(in a sense) I can do it my own way and I don't have to have about six huge projects done in one week. Not to mention I am gaining skills I can use on my own. :D So....I do have a lot to work on now though... Rememberance Day, Awards and Ceremonies, the grade nine intro page, the grade twelve intro page, the girl's basketball page and some sort of stat cards thing that I don't know how to do....I need help with that. I like this class also cause I actually have a teacher who knows what he's doing and knows what he's talking about. Haha. Like last year in History class. My teacher didn't really do all that great of a job. All she really did was read to us out of the textbook, give us worksheets that had nothing to do with what we just read that then sat at the front of the class browsing facebook and talking on msn on her laptop. Apparently she was a good english teacher, but not history. I didn't have anything against her as a person either, though I was angry that she failed me, when I DID do my work. Oh well, it was only a 41. I passed in Credit Recovery. Well, that's about all I can think of right now, I don't even know if Mr. Calvano knows my blogger address....that's the whole reason I'm supposed to be writing this, so I don't know....anyway, moving on, gotta finish my other work now. Farewell. By the way, the drawing is a doodle of what I would look like as a cartoon. Hurray for the sketchyness of it.

Well well well

Well, it's not Friday, but I decided to take a break from my yearbook designing and post something, as I did not last Friday. After a few quick lessons in this class, I now know a lot about photoshop. Hurray!! :D
Well, anyway, after many hours of work at lunch, in Construction Tech when I couldn't work on any projects, and a little in the morning, I have finally finished the design for the cover of my book, Claw and Fang. I am quite proud of it, though it is still a bit messy. I will touch it up a bit when I finally get my drawing tablet. But for now, this is it. :)

Introduction to Communication Tech

Again I am in Comm. Tech, on this lovely Monday, September 24, 2007, except that it is not so lovely for me, as I have somehow caught a cold. Therefore, I am feeling quite tired and irritable on this day. But here is my newest blog.

Alright, so, my objective for taking this course was to learn to use photoshop and hone my computer art skills. I'd already known how to use a bit of Photoshop, Windows Movie Maker and Macromedia Flash MX Animation program. Now I know a considerable amount more about Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. It's quite interesting, really.

What projects do I want to work on during this course, you ask? Well, I'd really like to learn more about Macromedia Flash MX, and learn to better my animations. So I guess I'd like to work on some animation projects. I'd also like to learn more about drawing with photoshop.

Some skills I want to aquire.....well, you see, I want to get a lot better at drawing with photoshop, work on my animation skills, and learn some photomanipulation, and such.

Future career goals in this area or other......well, I HAD been thinking about getting into animation and such, but I'm not so sure....You see, I enjoy drawing. Whenever I feel like, whatever I feel like. It wouldn't be as enjoyable if I was told what to draw it and when to draw it....But I've also been thinking about getting into an author's career. I like writing, and if I'm told what to write, and when to write it, I still enjoy it.

Include a photo? Sure. I have one I absolutely love. I took it at camp. :)

First Post

Well, here I am in Comm. Tech, posting my first blog of the year. Every Friday is casual day, which I guess means that we can chill, "drink coffee" and blog. So....Yeah....
Not that this really has to do with anything right now, but I'm very hungry, and do not have a lunch. I will probably either buy a big pretzel, or ask someone for 50 cents and get deepfried ravs. :D
....This class, and well....pretty much every other class might be a bit difficult for me right now. I got kicked out of my house last night you see, over something completely retarded. My mom is being a complete idiot and blaming me for stealing money from her when I didn't. I know it sounds like an unlikely story, but I found $20 on the street the other day and because there was no one around to claim it, pocketed it. Then, by horrible coincidence, my mom was suddenly missing the same amount of money. I swear to God and whatever else I can swear on that I did not take it, whether anyone believes me or not, but answer me this. If I DID take her money, then why on earth would I show her the same day that I had $20 and say, "Hey Mom, check it out! I scored $20 today!" It's stupid!
So....now I'm living with my aunt, which I guess will be okay. I'll have a little more freedom than I had at home anyway. I'm just not sure of what to think of all this. Of course, it wasn't entirely cause of the money that I left, but it was what was angering me most at the time....
Anyawy, I'm rambling on, and it has absolutly nothing to do with anything right now, so........
